The Hillcrest Cemetery was not a victim to vandals as online speculation came across local Facebook pages Thursday.
The Town of Smiths Falls later issued a statement saying staff is working through its monument repair program and those that are loose are laid down to ensure that they do not fall or sustain damage.
Once repairs are complete, monuments are set back in place.
