A reminder: Foster Street will see changes to its traffic flow this week as the town works to plant new trees in the downtown area. From September 30 to October 6, the street will be closed to westbound traffic between Gore and Wilson streets from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.
A detour will be set up along North Street for drivers, while parking on the north side of Foster will be restricted. The south side parking and the Wilson Street lot will still be available.
Pedestrians can access businesses and apartment entrances throughout the closure.
The temporary restrictions aim to make way for a greener streetscape by adding two new trees. Normal traffic and parking conditions will resume after 3:30 p.m. each day.
The town appreciates residents’ patience as it makes Foster Street a little leafier and more inviting.
