Rideau Lakes Township has fired its Integrity Commissioner in the midst of a number of investigations.
Council voted unanimously last week to issue a 90-day written notice next Tuesday, formally terminating Commissioner Bill Hunter’s services.
Hunter compiled reports against councillors Jeff and Paula Banks, as well as Deputy Mayor Marcia Maxwell following complaints against the trio. This was the second investigation into Paula Banks in the past 16 months.
All three reports will be presented at next week’s council meeting.
A fourth report surrounding the actions of Councillor Linda Carr has been referred to the Ontario Ombudsman, but was conducted by former IC Tony Fleming.
