The Leeds Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit continues merger discussions with other health units in the region, including KFL&A Public Health.
Their medical officer of health, Peter Oglaza says work is underway, but all involved agree its a good move.
In addition to our health unit and KFL&A Public Health, Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is involved in the talks.
The Doctor says the three health units have done their part and submitted all necessary information to the Ministry of Health.
While Dr. Oglaza would like to share more information, he just can’t at the moment as they’re playing the waiting game.
All three health units are in favour of the move which the province hopes will bolster services and save money.
