The Smiths Falls Fire Department is getting ready to promote fire safety during Fire Prevention Week, set for October 6-12. This year’s theme is “Smoke Alarms: Make them work for you!”
Fire officials want to remind everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in their homes. A functioning smoke alarm can provide the early warning needed to escape safely in case of a fire.
Throughout the week, the department will focus on spreading awareness about fire safety and the steps families can take to stay prepared. Residents are encouraged to test their smoke alarms regularly and replace batteries when needed.

Remember: working smoke alarms save lives!
