Leeds County Road 17 was shut down for several hours after a motorcycle crash near Kitley Line 2, close to Jasper. Officers from the Leeds and Grenville Detachments, along with other first responders, arrived quickly on the scene.
The motorcycle driver was seriously hurt and had to be airlifted to a regional trauma centre. Fortunately, the driver’s injuries are no longer considered life-threatening.
The road closure caused traffic delays in the area, but it has since reopened. Police are still investigating the cause of the collision and have not released further details.
Residents are reminded to exercise caution when traveling through the area, especially as investigations continue.
