Navigation season is coming to an end – that’s boating season to most of us.
The Rideau Canal Corridor will close for the season at 5pm on Holiday Monday.
Parks Canada’s Karen Feeley says the canal is part of our region’s fabric.
The lock-stations will re-open during the may long-weekend.
Before then there will be maintenance that will close bridges during the off-season, but that’s still a ways off. 88.1 myFM and LanarkLeedsToday.ca will let you know when that happens.
In the meantime, drivers in Smiths Falls can enjoy delay-free travel around Old Sly’s Road and Abbott Street.
