It was another very successful year for the 88.1 myFM Radiothon for local healthcare.
The station once again partnered with the Almonte General Hospital/Fairview Manor Foundation, the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation, as well as ConnectWell Community Health and Rideau Community Health Services.
In all $76,483 was raised during the 10-hour broadcast. Operations Manager Bob Perreault says the community stepped up again.
The radiothon was broadcast live from our studios and the Smiths Falls site of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital.
The 88.1 myFM team was joined by dozens of volunteers at the call centre throughout the day. The station is extremely grateful for the work they put in answering phones and recording pledges. Event founder Brian Perkin was excited to see another year of community support.
CEO of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation Margot Hallam said, “Our community values care close to home, the radiothon brings awareness of the importance of our hospitals. Thank you myFM for a great day!”
My Broadcasting Corporation (parent company of 881. myFM) President Jon Pole says local healthcare has a universal appeal.
