The Smiths Falls Police Services Board meeting, October 2024
The Smiths Falls Police Service will be hiring four new Constables to meet staffing demand.
Board Chair Shawn Pankow says the town’s gotten bigger, but the police service hasn’t.
During the July board meeting however the board approved the hiring of two new constables, who were sworn in last month.
Pankow maintains the four additional salaries will cancel out with the current overtime rates they’re paying.
The police board approved the staffing changes at their October meeting.
