A Community Safety Zone’s being installed at Montague Centennial Hall.
The stretch of County Road 23 from Bristow Drive to just North of Guthrie Road has seen drivers consistently above and beyond the posted speed limit, Lanark County Public Works Manager Sean Derouin said.
This comes at the request from the Township, as Deputy Reeve Bill Carroll says it was their residents and staff who highlighted the need with a recent uptick in community events.
The Township first installed flashing radar signs in the area but it’s done little to mitigate driver’s speeds, leading to the request of a community safety zone.
