Elle Halladay of Cornerstone Landing Youth Services presenting to Smiths Falls council
Elle Halladay of Cornerstone Landing Youth Services says they’ve had 37 new referrals this year and actively assist 72 youth who are dealing with or who have experienced homelessness.
The majority of which have a history of trauma and abuse, and Halladay tried to explain what that feels like for those with no personal experience.
Halladay says an investment into housing stability for these at-risk youth pays out on the other side, as it allows them to focus on education.
Cornerstone Landing does not have stable funding and are required to reapply for grants and rely on donations each year to keep their many services running.
