The numbers are in for Perth for this year’s RCL Automotive Build a Mountain of Food Campaign, and they provide a much needed boost.
The campaign brought in 53,266 pounds of food and $14,746 on Saturday for the Good Food Bank at the Table Community Food Centre.
The food bank’s Wendy Quarrington told the Mountain’s Jim Wright it couldn’t come at a better time with increased costs for the food bank and clients alike.
Volunteers collected donations at Metro, Barnabe’s YIG, Giant Tiger and Foodsmiths in town.
88.1 myFM is proud to be a partner in the Mountain each and every year.
Donations were also being collected at the Lanark Civitan for the Lanark Highlands Food Pantry. We expect to get their results within the next couple of days.
Next week the campaign continues with a stop in Smiths Falls.
