The Hospice Hub is gearing up for this year’s edition of the Perth Polar Bear Plunge.
This is the 31st year that brave souls will be taking a New Year’s Day dip into the Tay by the Legion to raise funds for a local cause.
Hospice Hub Spokesperson Alfred Von Mirbach says they work to provide a vital service.
Everyone will be touched by the end of life of a loved one at some point in their lives.
Von Mirbach says the money raised from this year’s plunge will go to the operation of The Hospice Hub as they strive to offer more.
As for taking the plunge itself on January 1st, he has a lot of experience and is offering advice for the first timers on his team of plungers.
You can register a team to help out in two ways. The first is through the Hospice Hub’s website found here. You can also get your team registered at the Perth Polar Bear Plunge’s official website here.
The annual plunge was founded by Dave Lavery and Stan Munroe back in 1994 and over its 30 years has raised more than $415,000 for local causes.
