The RCL Automotive Build a Mountain of Food campaign, presented by 88.1 myFM, Hometown News, and YourTV, saw a strong turnout in Week 3.
In Smiths Falls on Saturday, Nov. 23, the community contributed 21,703 pounds of food and $15,070 in cash donations. While food donations were down from last year’s totals, the public responded with greater cash contributions.
A late update from Lanark on Nov. 16 added another 600 pounds of food and $6,615 to the totals.
After three weeks, the campaign has collected 86,392 pounds of food and $41,490 in cash. Organizers are thrilled with the generosity, noting the cash increase allows food banks more flexibility to address urgent needs.
The campaign will continue this weekend in Elgin and Westport with its efforts to support local families this holiday season, thanking everyone for their ongoing kindness and support.
Stay tuned for final results as the campaign progresses.
