At the December 16, 2024, Council Meeting, Mayor Shawn Pankow recognized John Wanless for his outstanding service to the community as a member of the Planning Advisory Committee and Committee of Adjustment.
Over the course of 25 years, John provided invaluable knowledge and insight to help shape and develop Smiths Falls.
His contributions have played an important role in guiding the town’s growth and development. Fellow committee members, council, and staff expressed their deep appreciation for his dedication and support. John’s influence on the community will be greatly missed, as he steps down after many years of service.
Mayor Pankow praised John for his commitment, noting that his work has had a lasting impact on the future of Smiths Falls.
