Perth Citizens for Sensible Development (PCSD) is hosting a community forum on January 13 at the Perth Legion to discuss Caivan’s revised plan to build over 1,000 housing units on the Perth Golf Course.
The forum, starting at 7 p.m., aims to address key community concerns, including environmental impacts on the Tay River, wetlands, and wildlife, as well as compatibility with town priorities like sustainability and affordable housing.
Spokesperson Ramsey Hart says its not just his group that has expressed worry with Caivan’s plan.
In December, Caivan released a revised subdivision plan, adding more units while citing updated floodplain mapping. The proposal has faced opposition from both Perth and Lanark County officials.
Hart says they will be recording concerns at Monday’s meeting and bringing them to Perth Town Council.
An Ontario Land Tribunal hearing had been set for next month, but that has now been changed and a mediated settlement will now settle concerns raised by the town and developer.
