The new Emergency Department at Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital is officially open as of January 29, 2025. Patients needing emergency care must now enter through the Neelin Street entrance, rather than the main entrance on Lake Avenue.
The state-of-the-art facility is designed to improve patient care with more treatment spaces, enhanced privacy, and the latest medical technology. The hospital says the new layout will help staff provide faster and more efficient emergency care.
Dedicated emergency parking is available on Neelin Street for patients and visitors. The previous emergency entrance now serves as the hospital’s main entrance and should no longer be used for ER visits.
“This new Emergency Department is a major step forward,” said Brad Harrington, President and CEO of the Mississippi River Health Alliance. “We’re committed to delivering high-quality emergency care to our community.”
