Lanark County has won the Workforce Development and Talent Attraction Award from the Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) for its successful “Land in Lanark” campaign.
Launched in response to labor shortages, the campaign used digital marketing to attract skilled professionals, especially immigrants in urban centers, to the county’s rural communities. The initiative, part of the Rural Community Inclusion Pilot Project, focused on healthcare and trade workers.
The six-week campaign, which ran from July to August 2024, generated nearly 3 million impressions across TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Google, YouTube, and LinkedIn. It also led to 119 direct inquiries.
Lanark County Warden Toby Randell said the award highlights the county’s commitment to economic growth and workforce development. The recognition from EDCO affirms the campaign’s success in building a stronger, more diverse local economy.
