Skaters of all ages can now hit the ice at the Perth & District Community Centre—even if they don’t own skates.
A new free skate rental program is now available at the arena, thanks to a donation from the Senators Community Foundation and the efforts of FireDawgs Youth Initiatives in launching the Perth Skate Library.
Visitors can borrow skates by simply asking arena staff for their size. Rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis, making it easier for more people to enjoy the ice.
Organizers say the program is designed to remove barriers and encourage more community members to stay active this winter.
Local skaters are already lacing up and taking advantage of the initiative.
