Lanark County OPP has charged two people after a string of copper wire thefts and break-ins in Lanark County and the surrounding area that began in the fall of 2024.
Officers recovered a large amount of copper wire and copper pipes, as well as a crossbow, break and enter tools and a small amount of methamphetamine following a search warrant at a Tay Valley residence Tuesday.
34-year-old John Piegon from Tay Valley Township has been charged with:
•Possession of stolen property over $5000
•Mischief under $5000
•Break and enter
•Possession of break-in instruments
•Fail to comply with a probation order- two counts
•Fail to comply with a release order
•Fail to comply with an undertaking
•Possession of schedule I substance
22-year-old Jessica Watson from Lanark Highlands Township has been charged with:
•Possession of schedule I substance
•Fail to comply with an undertaking – two counts
Both were held for bail hearings.
