The Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority’s issued a flood outlook statement, which is is considered early notice of the potential for flooding based on weather forecasts calling for heavy rain, snow melt, high wind or other conditions that could lead to high runoff, cause ice jams, lakeshore flooding or erosion.
Rising temperatures for the next couple of days including calls for 10 to 15 mm of rainfall prompted the statement.
Residents are reminded to stay off of all water bodies due to high flows and slippery conditions. Parents are encouraged to remind children about these dangers and provide appropriate supervision.
