Carleton Place once again offering their Bare Root Tree Planting Program to Town residents.
The subsidized costs are $25 for a tree 5′ to 8′ feet in height with at least a 1” diameter. While some species such as Autumn Blaze Maple, Serviceberry, and McIntosh Apple are sold out, there are still plenty of Sugar Maples, Red Oaks, Hackberries, Honey Locusts, Cardinal Royal Mountain Ashes and Cortland Apples available.
Residents are encourage to plan an appropriate location for their trees taking into account their growth and eventual size and must obtain a free underground service locate before planting via ontarioonecall.ca
Trees are available on a first-come first-served basis with a limit of two per household through online.carletonplace.ca/view/environmental-programs.
A tree planting information session will be available virtually. The link to the online presentation will be emailed closer to the date.
The virtual information session is scheduled for: Wednesday, April 30th at 7:00 pm and is mandatory for anyone purchasing a tree, unless they’ve attended a previous one.
