Lanark County OPP have charged two men with driving while prohibited during separate incidents on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in Drummond-North Elmsley Township.
The first happened around 11:15 a.m. during a RIDE check. Officers say 35-year-old John Trafford of Perth was caught behind the wheel while banned from driving. Police also found open alcohol and cannabis near the driver’s seat. He faces three charges and will appear in Perth court on May 5.
Later that day, around 3:00 p.m., police stopped another vehicle on Highway 7. The driver, 40-year-old Jerry Ryan of Kingston, was also prohibited from driving. He was charged and is scheduled to appear in court on June 2.
Both vehicles were impounded for 45 days, and both men face additional driving suspensions.
Lanark County OPP say they remain focused on keeping impaired and prohibited drivers off local roads.
