The Battle of Ontario is back. The Ottawa Senators take on the Toronto Maple Leafs in round one of the NHL playoffs, here on 88.1 myFM.
The voice of the Senators, Dean Brown, says its been a long-time coming after a seven year rebuild.
Many Senators fans remember all to well how the Battle of Ontario played out for the team more than 20 years ago, but Brown says there’s a whole new generation that gets to experience the rivalry for the first time.
As for the team, no one has wanted this more than captain Brady Tkachuk. Brown says he will be a major factor in the series.
As for reliving the old rivalry, only two people who were around the teams in that era are still involved, and they’re on the bench coaching now for the Ottawa Senators. That would be Travis Green, head coach, and Daniel Alfredson, associate coach.
Listen to the complete playoff preview with Dean Brown below.
88.1 myFM will have every game of the Battle of Ontario and beyond should the Sens win, with Dean Brown and Gord Wilson on the call.
