Smiths Falls is hosting a Red Dress Day Ceremony at the Town Square beside Town Hall tomorrow at 2:00 pm.
The Smiths Falls Police service is very involved in the effort. Constable Sean Keogan says the event is important to the community, country, and even globally.
You may have noticed Red Dresses hanging in spots around the region. That dress is a symbol of the missing women and girls, to keep the cause in the public eye.
Keogan says there’s a dress out front of the station.
The ceremony will feature a smudging ceremony and guest speakers.
The event itself gets underway at 2:00 pm, as mentioned at the town square between Town Hall and the Library in Smiths Falls. All are welcome.
