Tree care is underway this week at Darou Farm in Perth.
The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority is spot spraying around young trees to help them grow strong and healthy.
The herbicide treatment targets grass and weeds that compete with seedlings for nutrients. While the spray is chemical-free, visitors and their pets are being asked to stay on marked trails during the treatment period.
The project is part of a larger effort to restore and protect local forests.
Officials say these early treatments are important for giving new trees the best possible start.
Signs are posted to remind walkers to stay on the path.
The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority thanks the community for its support and cooperation.
