The 12th annual AGH Run for Women’s & Newborn Health raised a record-breaking $165,000 on June 7, supporting obstetrics care at Almonte General Hospital.
More than 400 people, from stroller-pushing parents to energetic seniors, took part in the community fundraiser, organized by the AGH–Fairview Manor Foundation and presented by Canadian Tire Carleton Place.
The event featured 3K and 5K routes, a popular baby race, and a surprise volunteer award for longtime Run Committee Chair Julie Munro.
“This year’s generosity was incredible,” said Foundation Executive Director Vaia Dimas, adding funds will help buy vital equipment like Panda Warmers and infant security systems.
Top individual fundraiser Darrell Graham brought in $34,000, while the Lotan family raised $13,000 as a team. Schools and sponsors also stepped up, with Almonte District High School collecting over $18,000.
Since 2013, the event has raised over $400,000 to support local newborn care.
