
A 25-year-old man from Smiths Falls is facing charges after Lanark County OPP responded to reports of an assault involving multiple victims on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
Police say the incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. in Tay Valley Township. The suspect fled the scene on foot along Scotch Line Road and was later struck by a passing vehicle. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Following the investigation, police arrested Nicholas Valliquette and charged him with two counts of assault, common nuisance, and being a pedestrian on the roadway under the Highway Traffic Act.
Valliquette was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, July 21st.
Lanark County OPP continue to encourage anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
