Environment Canada has issued a thunderstorm watch for the 88.1 myFM listening area as of 3:01 p.m. on Thursday, July 3.
Meteorologists are tracking a cluster of thunderstorms moving south at 60 km/h from Embrun to Glenview. The storms could bring 90 km/h wind gusts and hail up to the size of quarters.
Environment Canada says these conditions may cause power outages and property damage. Flying debris and large hail could also result in injury.
Emergency Management Ontario is advising people to take shelter right away if a storm approaches.
The warning means that severe weather is either happening or about to happen, with damaging wind, rain or hail.
Residents are urged to stay alert and continue checking for updates from Environment Canada.
