Lanark Highlands greenlit a $178,354.75 contract with PSD Citywide to complete its Asset Management Plan and Building Condition Assessment reports.
The BCA will cost $118,000, but a necessary report says Councilor Jeannie Kelso.
Staff say an asset management plan isn’t worth much when they don’t have a clear picture of where their infrastructure stands.
That’s what the BCA will determine, said Treasurer Rhonda Whitmarsh.
Asset Management Plans are required by the province and the Township’s missed previous imposed deadlines so it’s work that needs to be done, as Deputy Reeve Bill King reflected.
King referred to the township seeing some staff turnover in recent years in key positions but that seems to have settled down and now they’re able to complete their checklist.
The money for both reports will largely be pulled from capital reserves in both 2025 and 2026. They expect them to take about ten months to complete.
