A beloved teacher at St. John Catholic High School has received a national honour for his work helping others.
David Peters was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal by the Canadian Cancer Society earlier this month. The medal celebrates Canadians who make a meaningful impact through volunteer work and service.
Peters was nominated for his many years of dedication to the cancer cause. He has supported the Canadian Cancer Society through countless events, raising awareness and offering comfort to those affected by the disease.
Earlier this month, Peters travelled to Toronto with his family to accept the prestigious medal in person.
Staff and students at St. John say his kindness and leadership have made a lasting difference both in the classroom and beyond.
The award recognizes not just his past efforts—but the inspiration he continues to bring.
