A former Valley Heartland executive has been charged with fraud.
Smiths Falls Police say 44-year-old Tina Stevens, the former general manager, was arrested July 3rd after financial discrepancies dating back more than eight years were uncovered.
Valley Heartland provides loans of up to $300,000 and offers support to small businesses in Lanark County and Leeds & Grenville.
Steven faces one count of global fraud over $5,000.
Police say Valley Heartland is the alleged victim in the case.
Stevens turned herself in and was subsequently released with an August 11th court date.
