
As we’re not expected to get much relief from the heat for at least a few more days, here’s our current run-down on available cooling centres around our listening area.
Carleton Place has the Public Library Beckwith Street. Hours are Mon-Thurs 10:30 am to 8:00 pm, Fridays and Saturdays 10:00 am to 5:30 pm
Carleton Place beaches at Riverside and Centennial Parks have lifeguards on duty from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm
Carleton Place splash pads are at Riverside Park, Carambeck Community Centre, Dunlop Road Park and Miller’s Crossing
Mississippi Mills has cooling centres at the Almonte Library, seven days a week, the John Levi Community Centre, Monday through Friday, the Pakenham Library Tuesday through Saturday, and the Stewart Community Centre, Monday through Friday.
Almonte’s Splash pad is in Gemmill Park and runs seven days a week.
Mississippi Mills has two public unsupervised beaches at the Almonte Fair Grounds and the Pakenham Community Park.
The Smiths Falls Royal Canadian Legion is open daily from 11 am to 4 pm
Smiths Falls beaches at Hydro Park are also open.
The Smiths Falls Splash Pad has also re-opened.
The Splash Pad in Perth at Conlon Farm is open and welcoming visitors.
As is the outdoor pool at Stewart Park.
The Perth Municipal Pool is open regular hours.
