
The Town of Perth is mourning the loss of a respected former police chief.
Thomas Asahel “Ace” Halladay passed away on Saturday, July 12 in Ottawa at the age of 89. Halladay served as Perth’s Chief of Police from 1971 to 2000, dedicating nearly three decades to public safety.
Known for his leadership and care for the community, Halladay’s impact is still felt across the town. To honour his memory, the flag at Perth Town Hall has been lowered to half-mast.
Perth Council is extending sincere condolences to the Halladay family, including his wife Dale, three children, and many extended family members.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 29 at Blair & Son Funeral Home in Perth. Memorial donations are welcome in his name.
Halladay’s dedication and service continue to inspire first responders in Perth and beyond.
