SFPS Police Chief Jodi Empey
Smiths Falls Police Chief Jodi Empey provided more details around the officer who was rammed by a fleeing suspect last month.
She said the stop took place just outside a known drug house.
Empey noted the police cruiser suffered significant damage.
The officer involved was uninjured.
Because they were able to identify the individual, 28-year-old Dale Scott, Empey said the SFPS’ deductible is only $300, so there won’t be much of a financial impact on their end.
Scott was located three days later where he again attempted to flee police by running into a nearby residence, but eventually was detained and now faces 16 charges.
