Rideau Lakes Mayor Arie Hoogenboom is considering a veto on the recently passed motion which would see the Chantry municipal office retrofit project move to tender.
Hoogenboom implemented strong mayor powers to do exactly that in May, but council found a clever workaround his veto and reintroduced the motion this week.
He told myFM he put council “on notice,” he’s considering implementing a veto to stop the latest motion, which also sees drawings issued for a new build and the office converting into a garage, from happening.
