Drivers in Carleton Place should expect overnight lane reductions near the Independent Grocery Store as part of a sewer upsizing project.
Cavanagh crews have begun digging through the McNeely Avenue intersection Wednesday night to replace the existing sewer line with a larger pipe.
The work started on the east side and is progressing westward.
To help keep traffic moving safely, OPP officers are on-site each night.
Electronic message boards are also in place to alert drivers.
The intersection work is expected to take about two more nights to complete.
Officials say the overnight schedule is designed to reduce daytime disruptions. Drivers are asked to slow down and follow posted signs if travelling through the area at night.
It should be concluded by Saturday.
