Lanark County has created a new position aimed at streamlining support for policing, safety planning, and communications across the region.
Stephanie Gray was hired in early June as the county’s first OPP Detachment Board Support Coordinator. In this multifaceted role, Gray acts as secretary-treasurer for the new Lanark County OPP Detachment Board — managing meetings, maintaining records, and offering administrative support.
In addition to her work with the board, Gray will coordinate activities related to the Lanark County Situation Table, assist in the implementation of the recently approved Community Safety and Well-being Plan, and ensure the county remains compliant with the Community Safety and Policing Act.
The role also includes providing communications services for the county, including issuing media releases, managing social media, and pursuing grants to support public safety and board operations.
Gray brings more than 30 years of experience in professional communications to the role, including work in journalism, consulting, and community safety. She is an experienced project coordinator and grant writer, with a strong history of collaboration across community stakeholders. Her recent work includes leading the coordination of the Lanark County Situation Table and helping to develop and implement the region’s safety and well-being strategy.
