The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a robbery at a Carleton Place business.
Officers were called to a store on McNeely Avenue around 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, after reports of a robbery in progress.
Police say two masked individuals entered the business, used hammers to smash a display case in the cosmetics department, and made off with two full bags of cologne and perfume.
The suspects fled the scene in a black BMW, driven by a third individual. The vehicle, which had been reported stolen from Ottawa earlier in the day, was last seen heading north on McNeely Avenue.
A member of the public attempted to intervene and suffered minor injuries.
Descriptions of the suspects are as follows:
Suspect 1: male, thin build, wearing a mask, a blue NY sweater with white sleeves, gloves, dark torn jeans and black shoes
Suspect 2: male, wearing a mask, a white hoodie, grey jeans and black shoes
Suspect 3: seated in the driver’s seat; no description available
