Resurfacing work began Monday on the Tay Havelock Trail, bringing fresh improvements to one of Lanark County’s favourite outdoor routes.
The project, led by Gemmill Sand and Gravel, will cover the stretch from Old Brooke Road #2 to the trailhead west of Glen Tay.
Work includes grading and laying a new stone dust surface to improve safety, durability and accessibility.
Public Works Manager Sam Poole said the upgrades are key to keeping the trail in top shape for years to come.
Trail users, especially ATV riders, are urged to ride with caution during construction and watch for workers and equipment along the way.
The 25-kilometre trail, part of the Trans Canada Trail network, offers multiple access points and scenic countryside views south of Highway 7.
