The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) has named Jesse Winchester its new Commissioner.
Winchester has deep ties to the league as a former player with the Cornwall Colts before moving on to play four years at Colgate University.
Afterwards, the Long-Sault native enjoyed a successful playing career appearing in 285 NHL games with 233 of them as a member of the Ottawa Senators.
Those ties also extend to coaching with the Brockville Braves winning back-to-back coach of the year awards in 2017-18 and 2018-19.
He says taking on this role was a no-brainer.
Winchester wants to refamiliarize himself with the league and its teams before making a plan of attack.
Winchester also spent time as a strength and conditioning coach with the Senators after his playing career.
The regular season begins September 17th.
