A Mississippi Mills resident is facing charges after police uncovered what they describe as a large-scale fraud involving a local business.
The Lanark County OPP, along with the OPP Crime Unit, launched an investigation in November 2024 after being alerted to several suspicious transactions.
Police say the activity stretched over a 15-month period beginning in August 2022.
On September 18, 2025, investigators charged 45-year-old Eileen Campbell of Mississippi Mills Township with fraud over $5,000.
The charge comes after months of detailed review and coordination between investigators and the affected business.
Campbell was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on October 20, 2025.
Police say the investigation highlights the importance of businesses keeping a close eye on financial records and reporting irregularities.
No further details about the case have been released as the matter moves before the courts.
