Smiths Falls council is holding off on judgment of Councillor Dawn Quinn until she responds to an integrity commissioner’s report after being absent at the Monday meeting.
Commissioner Tony Fleming found Quinn failed to declare a conflict before voting on a $4,665 grant for Davidson Courtyard Shops, where she’s a member through her business. He said that partnership carries some nuance.
Smiths Falls Mayor Shawn Pankow’s leaning towards imposing Fleming’s recommended two-week pay suspension against Quinn, but said she should be allowed the chance to respond before council makes a decision.
Council deferred the decision until the next meeting where Quinn is present to provide an opportunity to speak.
