Reports of a stolen vehicle led to an early morning investigation in Perth Tuesday morning.
The Ontario Provincial Police posted on social media an advisory of a heavy police presence around Craig Street and Baynes Street due to an “ongoing investigation,” adding there was no threats to public safety.
At 7:54 AM, they updated the post saying they’ve cleared the area.
When asked for further details by myFM, a spokesperson wrote, “At around 4:00 a.m., OPP received reports of a stolen vehicle. Officers have now cleared the scene, but the investigation is still ongoing.”
“At this time, there’s limited information available, and there is no threat to public safety.”
myFM asked specific questions regarding if an arrest was made, and if the OPP Canine Unit was deployed, but that information was not offered.
