
A disturbing case in Rideau Lakes has led to a 26-year-old facing multiple serious charges, including attempt to commit murder on a child.
Leeds County OPP say the investigation began on Friday, September 26, 2025, shortly before 9 a.m. Members of the Leeds County Detachment, along with the OPP Crime Unit, launched an intimate partner violence and child abuse investigation.
The accused was arrested and charged with attempt to commit murder, sexual assault on a person under 16 causing bodily harm, sexual interference, and forcible confinement. Police say two counts were also laid for assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm by choking, assault, uttering death threats, and intimidation involving threats of violence.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville at a later date.
Police have not released the name of the accused to protect the identity of the victim.
