The Smiths Falls Police Service is rolling out its 2025 “Stuff a Cruiser” campaign just in time for Thanksgiving.
Constable Sean Keogan says officers are teaming up with local schools and the Smiths Falls Community Food Bank to collect non-perishable donations for families in need.
On Friday, October 10, police will gather food items from schools before delivering them to the local food bank in a cruiser packed to the roof. Keogan calls it a humbling experience.
Keogan says Officers will also join students in two schools their annual turkey trot parade, bringing a festive spirit to the community event.
The food bank has shared its most needed items, which include cereal, pasta and pasta sauce, canned tuna or salmon, juice, rice, peanut butter, fruit, vegetables, canned children’s pasta, and personal hygiene products.
Organizers say the campaign shows the power of community spirit as residents work together to ensure no one goes hungry this holiday season.
