Town officials are warning residents that October water and sewer bills may not arrive in the mail because of the ongoing Canada Post strike.
The town says 41 per cent of taxpayers still receive paper billing, which could cause delays. The final 2025 water and sewer installment, along with the last 2025 tax installment, are both due November 3.
To avoid missing payments, residents are urged to sign up for e-billing through the town’s website. Officials also encourage electronic payments by adding Carleton Place tax and water accounts as payees in online banking or by setting up pre-authorized payments.
Balances can be checked through Virtual Town Hall, by calling 613-257-6218, or by emailing staff.
Late payments will still face penalties despite the strike. The town says switching to e-billing is the easiest way to stay on time and avoid disruptions.
