The community of Perth will gather this Sunday to remember 15-year-old Reese Stanzel, whose life was tragically taken in October 2024.
The vigil, hosted by Perth & District Community Partners, will take place at 2 p.m. at Darou Farm and offer space for reflection, healing, and solidarity.
The program includes remarks from community leaders, live music, poetry, and the dedication of a memorial bench in Reese’s honour by Mayor Judy Brown.
Attendees will also take part in a reflective activity, writing down their wishes for the community’s future before joining in a symbolic ringing of the bells.
“This gathering is about more than remembrance—it’s a show of support for the Stanzel family and a testament to the strength and compassion of our town,” said Cathy McNally, the town’s director of community services.
Counsellors will be on site throughout the event to support those in need.
