Home Hospice North Lanark is offering Practical Caregiver Training sessions for non-paid caregivers responsible for those with life-limiting illnesses. They’re being held on three consecutive Fridays starting October 31st. Board Chair Jan Watson has the details.
HHNL will have RNs and other specialists provide details on a wide variety of topics than many caregivers have little knowledge about. Jan gives us the highlights.
The Training is being provided at no cost in collaboration with the Champlain Hospice Palliative Care Program. The sessions have been timed to improve access for those caregivers fully occupied in supporting someone in palliative care. Jan notes every hour away from caregiving can be a major challenge for some.
There’s plenty of onsite parking at HHNL’s office at 500 Ottawa Street in Almonte. While water is supplied, bringing a snack or light box-lunch is recommended. Learn more at hhnl.ca or facebook.com/hhnlca. Register by emailing Jan at chair@hhnl.ca
