Lanark County OPP have charged a 52-year-old Beckwith Township man following an investigation into sexual offences involving a child.
Police say the investigation began on October 18, 2025, and involves incidents that allegedly occurred between 2012 and 2019. The accused faces three charges: sexual assault on a person under 16, sexual interference, and invitation to sexual touching.
The man was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date. Police have not released his name to protect the identity of the victim.
The OPP continue to encourage victims of sexual assault or abuse to come forward, emphasizing that help and support are available. Anyone in immediate danger should call 911, and community resources are available to assist survivors confidentially.
